Pin-Master 48 Supports Holtek's OTP Range
MQP offers programming
support for Holtek's range of RISC OTP microcontrollers.

Windows Support for Model 200
Recent computers
are making it very difficult to use DOS programs, especially
those which make use of the parallel port.
To assist our
many thousands of Model 200 users we have added support
to the Windows PROMDRIVER application (PDW) for the Model
200, to allow an up-to-date Windows interface which works
on Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP.
Users will require
the parallel version of the programmer. A Parallel Option
Kit is also available to convert serial programmers.
The latest version
of PDW featuring this option is available now for download.

New Command Line Script Option
The Windows version
of PROMDRIVER now includes command line options to open
a specified data file on starting, or to run a specified
script file.
This gives the
capability of running an automated programming task, under
control of another program, or batch file.

New Device Finder Application
In order to help
you find a programming solution more easily, we have introduced
the MQP Device Finder application. Using this you can specify
the device type you wish to program, and the Finder will
display the programmers which support that device. It will
also specify any adapter required.

Windows PROMDRIVER now with Edit capability
MQP's famous
DOS object file editor PDED has been providing sterling
service for several years, and has had many excellent reviews
in the world's press.
However PROMDRIVER
has now been upgraded to allow immediate editing of any
object file directly in the application. The Windows interface
provides an interface which is even easier to use, with
most operations being instinctive.
In addition,
because of the multiple file window capability offered by
PROMDRIVER, it is extremely simple to perform such operations
as copying and pasting sections of files between windows.
Proper object
file editing requires that the application keep track not
only of the value of bytes, but also whether the byte at
a given address actually exists. In this way conversions
between file formats such as Intel Hex and Motorola Hex
can be performed even on files which define isolated bytes
in the address space. PROMDRIVER also allows editing of
the file content displayed as words, and allows automatic
patching of files from .IPS files.
Your data is
secure because editing must be enabled for each window that
you wish to change.
PROMDRIVER will
continue to be enhanced to further its ease of use coupled
with high functionality. The software is available for immediate

even in demo mode.

Script Mode for Windows PROMDRIVER released
MQP Electronics
has upgraded the unified Windows version (V3.50) of its
PROMDRIVER software to add Job Scripts. This function has
been very popular among developers and manufacturers for
some years on the DOS version (where it was known as Batch
Mode).
Good news for
existing users is that the new Script language is virtually
100% compatible with the original DOS batch language. However
the conversion to Windows has allowed improvements such
as a built-in Script editor, with a prototype command generator.
Another new feature is one click Script running.
Scripting has
been released simultaneously for Pin-Master 48 and for System
2000 users.
PROMDRIVER is
expected to continue its reputation for ease of use coupled
with high functionality. The software is available for immediate
free download. A registration of 14 April 2000 or later
is required to access the Script function, except in Demo
mode.

Windows PROMDRIVER now with JAM support
MQP Electronics
has upgraded the unified Windows version (V3.05) of its
popular PROMDRIVER software to add support for programming
parts from industry-standard JAM files.
The JAM file
system together with the Pin-Master 48 allows in-circuit
programming of any logic part for which a JAM file has been
produced. Programming takes place through the Pin-Master
48's integral JTAG socket.
Package converters
are also available to program these logic parts directly
in the programmer.
PROMDRIVER is

Unified PROMDRIVER offers NT support
MQP Electronics
has released the unified Windows version (V3.00) of its
popular PROMDRIVER software. One program now provides support
for Pin-Master 48 and the System 2000 gang programming system.
In addition the
application is now designed to run on 'Windows 95', 'Windows
98', 'Windows NT', and is 'Windows 2000'-ready. As well
as its normal function of controlling MQP programming equipment,
it can also be operated in demo mode to preview its excellent
features before buying.
The device support
list for Pin-Master 48 has reached 2650+ devices.

48 now programs the complete Rohm catalog of programmable
parts.These include the popular BR24C02 series, BR93LC46

is now offering in-circuit programming for PIC Microcontrollers
via a dedicated JTAG/ISP socket on their universal device
programmer Pin-Master 48. The same programmer can now be
used for thousands of device types in the normal programming
ZIF socket, as well as to perform in system programming
of PCB mounted PICs.
As a result of
the short programming time, the use of a single site programmer
with a dedicated ISP connector on a production line becomes
an attractive and low-cost alternative to a separate gang
programming operation.
The parts are
programmed to Microchip's specification for production standard
programming. This includes verification over the full device
operating range thus ensuring good erase and programming
margins.
An application
note is available, giving full details of in-circuit
programming of PICs
MQP have just
delivered a system for gang programming the Motorola MC68HC711K4.
The system is ideal for the volume programming of the microcontroller.
Eight parts at
a time are blank checked, programmed (EPROM and EEPROM areas),
and verified at two different VCC levels in about 46 seconds.
This system is
just one of a range available for Motorola microcontrollers
from the 68HC705, '708 and '711 families.
The Pin-Master
48 device programmer from MQP Electronics now offers in-circuit

MQP Electronics

interface, and full advantage may be taken of the Pin-Master
48 production language to define batch jobs.
MQP Electronics
has now received approval from National Semiconductors for
programming the COP8SAx family of microcontrollers. They
are also the single approved European supplier of programming
adapters for the various members of the COP8SAx family.
MQP can supply
single site and gang programmers for this family of parts.
MQP have added
to their range of Hitachi microcomputer programming adapters.
The latest adapters,
which have been designed and manufactured by MQP and supplied
to Hitachi, are for the H8-3644 series in 64 shrink DIP
and 64 QFP, and the newer FLASH-based H8-3644F series
Other Hitachi
parts programmable by MQP adapters include the popular H8-532/H8-534/H8-536
and H8-325/3256/3257/3258 series.
The adapters,
are designed for used on any manufacturer's programming
equipment, including MQPs own single site and gang programmers.

The Pin-Master
48 Universal Programmer from MQP Electronics has been approved
by Philips Semiconductors for programming the CoolRunner
family of logic devices.
This recently
introduced range of PLDs/CPLDs offers high speed and a very
low power in both 3V and 5V parts.
MQP Electronics
can also supply the pin converters necessary to program
any of the CoolRunner range.
The Pin-Master
48 is a single site PC controlled universal programmer which
supports a wide range of devices.
MQP Electronics
has extended their range of Programming Adapters with a
series of self-wire package converters. The system provides
an economic solution to the programming of a wide range
of micro-controllers and other devices in a variety of packages
such as PLCC and QFP.
The self-wire
printed circuit boards include positions for optional pull
up/pull down resistors on every pin, bypass capacitors and
miscellaneous components such as resonators.
